85 años de significativa labor
Bogotá D.C. 18 de noviembre de 2011. Desde el 7 de junio de 1926 la seccional Antioquia viene cumpliendo con una misión humanitaria importante gracias al trabajo de Voluntarios y Empleados que han creído que con su esfuerzo y compromiso pueden ayudar a mejorar la calidad de vida de las comunidades más vulnerables.
La primera acción efectiva de la Seccional Antioquia fue el 18 de junio de 1927, cuando un desprendimiento de una montaña cubrió la fábrica de Rosellón en el municipio de Envigado, con varios muertos y heridos, la gran mayoría de clase obrera, la Institución coordinó el socorro a las víctimas e igualmente lideró un importante movimiento de colecta, convirtiéndose en un importante donante.
A partir de esa fecha hasta el presente año, la Institución ha estado presente en los más importantes eventos que han afectado la geografía del Departamento de Antioquia como: Actos terroristas Medellín (décadas 80y 90), Deslizamiento Villatina (1987), Masacre de Machuca (Segovia 1998), Proceso de Paz (zona de distensión 1998 – 2001), Explosión carro bomba en Centro Comercial El Tesoro y Parque Lleras (2001), Emergencia invernal en La Mojana (2007), Deslizamiento en El Socorro – Comuna 13 (Medellín 2008), Terremoto de Haití (2010) , Ola Invernal (2010-2011), Accidente Aéreo (Urrao 2011), entre muchos más.
Bajo el lema Lo que llevas por dentro transforma todo, la Cruz Roja Colombiana Seccional Antioquia cada año, proyecta su misión humanitaria y social a través del desarrollo de programas y proyectos encaminados al mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de las comunidades más vulnerables de los municipios de Antioquia. Además, es una de las instituciones humanitarias más antiguas y prestigiosas del Departamento, lo cual, la hace innovar permanentemente para brindar servicios humanitarios y sociales de la más alta calidad.
Su permanencia en el tiempo y la transparencia de su gestión, la convierten en patrimonio de todos los antioqueños, quienes con su solidaridad le ayudan a transformar su misión humanitaria para ayudar a lo más vulnerables.

The Colombian Red Cross Sectional Antioquia births 85 years of humanitarian aid and social in the department.
Bogotá D.C. November 18, 2011. Since June 7 of 1926 the Sectional Antioquia is fulfilling with an important humanitarian mission thanks to the work of the Volunteers and Employees who have believed that their compromise and effort can help to improve the quality of life of the vulnerable communities.
The first effective action of the Sectional Antioquia was on June 18 of 1927, when a detachment of a mountain cover the Rosellón Fabric in the municipality of Envigado, with many death people and injured, the vast majority of working class, the Institution coordinated the relief of the victims and also leaded an important movement of collect, becoming an important donor.
From that date to the present year, the Institution has been present in the most important event that had affected the geography of the Department of Antioquia like: Terroristic Acts in Medellín (decades 80s and 90s), Landslide Villatina (1987), Machuca Massacre (Segovia 1998), Peace Process (distention zone 1998-2001), Explosion of a bomb car in El Tesoro Mall and Lleras Park (2001), Winter Emergency in La Mojana (2007), Landslide in El Socorro – Commune 13 (Medellín 2008), Haití Earthquake (2010), Rainy Season (2010-2011), Plain Crash (Urrao 2011), among others.
Over the motto What you have inside change everything, the Colombian Red Cross Sectional Antioquia every year, projects its humanitarian mission and social through de development of programs and projects aimed to the improve of the quality of life of the communities most vulnerable in the municipalities of Antioquia. Also, is one of the humanitarian institutions more old and prestigious of the Department which makes innovate constantly to provide humanitarian and social services of the highest quality.
Its permanence on time and transparency of its management, become it the heritage of all Antioquia, who with their solidarity help to transform their humanitarian mission to help the most vulnerable.
